about

What is this record?

Glad you asked. The Ol' Howl & Smash was a great band fronted by Joel Magid, Casey "The Kyd" Robbins, and Russ Mortenson. Formed in 2003 in Eugene, Oregon this band blasted through show after show and recorded two records. The Seven Cups was their second record recorded at the now defunct Dogwood Studios in Elmira, Oregon.

Why is it on Joel Magid's page?
For convenience my friend.

Where do I find out more?
Hmm... I dunno, but goodluck hunting.

about

Joel Magid Portland, Oregon

Joel Magid's new album Hyenas is an absorbing collection of psych-pop and homegrown melody, with echoes of the phantasmagoric '60s, and a slice of punk-rock DIY-ness for good measure. "Snakes, I Love You" is one of the album's more upbeat numbers, a grimy but catchy slice of basement-prom pop. It's one of Hyenas' many highlights. -Ned Lannamann
